BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) -- The Idaho National Guard's 124th Fighter Wing dedicated two A-10C Thunderbolts in honor of two Treasure Valley cities Friday afternoon.
The event took place at Gowen Field in Boise. One jet was dedicated to Nampa and the other was dedicated to Caldwell. ANG officials say each had specific "nose art" that is distinctive and symbolic to enhance unit morale.
Historically, nose art was known to personalize combat aircraft as well as boosting unit morale, especially around World War II. The art is supposed to depict the community it represents.
