Child survives horrific train collision in Bonner County, two adults and another child killed

BONNER COUNTY, Idaho (CBS2) A child survived a crash that killed two adults and another child. Idaho State Police say the crash happened at 11:14 a.m. Saturday at a railroad crossing near North Boyer Road and Selle Road in Bonner County in North Idaho.

The driver of a Subaru Forester was traveling east on West Selle Road from Boyer Road. Police say the driver failed to yield the right of way to a freight train going south. The train hit the Subaru, forcing it off the road and causing it to overturn.

A 37-year-old man, a 31-year-old woman and a child were killed in the crash. The other child is being treated at a Spokane hospital.

The operators of the freight train were not hurt. Police say everyone in the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt.

Idaho State Police is continuing to investigate the crash.
