He began a six-month accounting profession but quit on the recommendation of friends to seek a comedy career. Pinette had an early break when she was asked to tour with Frank Sinatra. Pinette appeared frequently on The Tonight Show and The View.

Duets, Simon Sez, The Last Godfather, Dear God, and Junior were all films in which Pinette appeared. Pinette appeared as Bumpo in Artisan Entertainment’s The Punisher, starring Thomas Jane and John Travolta in 2004.

John Pinette never married as he preferred to keep his personal life private. He rose to prominence through his stand-up routines and roles in films and television and was recognized for his observational humor and impersonation. 

He had a tremendous comic career, winning awards and breaking sales records at comedy festivals.

Pinette had heart and liver illness, and his cause of death was a pulmonary embolism, even though by the time of his death on April 5, 2014, he was 200 pounds lighter than he had been at his heaviest, having altered his lifestyle and had gastric bypass surgery in 2013.

 In 2013 interviews, he stated that he felt healthier and fitter than he had long before canceling his tour three months before his death due to illness. 

He was discovered in his hotel room at Pittsburgh’s Sheraton Station Square Hotel. He’d come to town to attend a family gathering. His struggle with prescription medication addiction exacerbated Pinette’s lousy health.

John Pinette was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on March 23, 1964, to Louise Pitre and Robert Pinette Sr. 

His mother was of Acadian descent, originally from New Brunswick, Canada. He grew raised with Dorothy, Kathleen, and Robert as siblings.

Pinette attended Malden Catholic High School before graduating from the University of Massachusetts Lowell with a degree in accounting in 1986. 

Despite having a degree in accountancy, Pinette chose to pursue his passion for comedy on his friends’ advice. 

This professional change started a great path to see him become a well-known comedian.

Pinette rose to prominence through his performances in films, television series, and comic club tours. 

He demonstrated his flair for impressions, entertaining audiences with his humorous impersonations of superstars such as Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, and Marlon Brando. 

He also included singing in his routines, demonstrating his versatility as a performer.

John Pinette’s life was tragically cut short when he died at 50 from a pulmonary embolism. Friends, colleagues, and fans gathered in Springfield, Pennsylvania, to grieve the passing of a great and popular comic.
