BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Zamzows raises record amount of money for local animal shelters during its annual "Stockings for Shelters" fundraiser.
9,677 Treasure Valley residents donated a record amount to the fundraiser which went to the Idaho Humane Society of Ada County, Pet Haven in Nampa, and the Pet Adoption League in Emmett.
The three organizations were surprised with the total donation amount at a special event held on Friday, January 27th.
This marks the second year of the fundraiser. The Zamzow family "was so overwhelmed by the generosity of their customers, that the family will once again match the entire amount donated by the public."
The amount donated totaled $61,286.00 with $39,223 of which went to the Idaho Humane Society.
