A Schuylkill County woman has been identified as the victim of a fatal boating accident in Union County late Saturday.
On Saturday evening, around 7:50pm, emergency personnel were called to a water rescue in the Susquehanna River near Silo Lane in Point Township, Union County.
The incident came is as water rescue for a capsized boat with a woman in the water.
According to Fox56, around 9:10pm, Melissa Cummings, 37, of Minersville, was found underwater.
She was transported to an area hospital where was pronounced dead. The incident has been ruled accidental.
